The benefits of chocolate

Do you love chocolate? But you feel guilty about it… what if your indulgent break did you more good than you thought?

We invite you to discover the 5 benefits of cocoa with us and turn a little treat into a loyal companion for your health.

  • An ally for good digestion

Cocoa, an important source of fiber, aids digestion and stimulates bowel movements. Choose a high-cocoa dark chocolate, and it will contain more fiber than a vegetable. It also contains polyphenols (plant-based antioxidants) that help strengthen the intestinal lining, a very important part of our immune system.

  • A friend to your heart

Dark chocolate helps maintain healthy blood circulation. At the same time, the flavonoids (plant pigments) found in chocolate help limit the appearance of bad cholesterol. In short, chocolate helps prevent cardiovascular disease

  • A powerful antioxidant

Even more so than green tea, chocolate is a powerful antioxidant: it helps strengthen immune defenses. At the same time, it helps prevent certain serious diseases such as cancer and fights cellular aging.

  • An effective anti-stress aid

It is very rich in minerals and trace elements such as magnesium, copper, zinc, iron, and more. It helps combat fatigue, stress, and anxiety. Furthermore, it contributes to well-being and happiness by boosting endorphins. So why deprive yourself?

  • A unique taste sensation

If chocolate appeals to young and old alike, it is certainly for the pleasure of the taste buds. This unique chocolate flavor is what we try to create in our workshop in Chamonix with premium cocoa beans crafted into dark and milk chocolate. There is something for everyone!

At Shoukâ

At Shoukâ, we work with 5 origins directly from the cocoa bean: this is what is known as Bean-to-Bar production. Therefore, our bars contain no added lecithin, preservatives, or flavor enhancers, which makes the nutritional quality of the product even more appealing.

Our dark chocolates are made with at least 70% cocoa (50% for milk chocolate), which boosts their energy value. They are therefore lower in sugar and richer in nutritional ingredients

Did you know?

Cocoa has many benefits, but it is also important to learn how to read labels: in industrial production, cocoa often ends up in 3rd or even 4th place among the ingredients after sugar, cocoa butter, or milk.

To get the best nutritional quality, it is therefore necessary to check the ingredients on the bar: the ideal is a simple recipe where cocoa bean is the main ingredient.
